2. STANDARD BOOKING STRUCTURE

2. STANDARD BOOKING STRUCTURE

All Talent are booked in half-day or full-day increments. Early release does not reduce the booked rate.

Billing Information

Complete and accurate billing information must be provided to Stars Talent Studio prior to booking confirmation. Incomplete billing details may delay booking confirmation or release of Talent and production resources.

Timekeeping (All Bookings)

  • Time worked 15 or 45 minutes past the hour is billed as an additional half-hour.
  • Agency must be notified immediately if production goes into overtime.

Overtime

Overtime beyond the booked session is billed at 1.5× the agreed rate.

Contracts & NDAs

All contracts, releases, usage agreements, NDAs, and licensing documents involving Talent must be reviewed and approved by Stars Talent Studio prior to Talent execution.

Meal Periods

A meal break should be provided within 4–6 hours of call time.
If a meal break is not provided within six (6) hours, a meal fee will apply until a meal period is given or Talent is wrapped.

Booking Time Blocks by Production Type

Half Day: 4 consecutive hours
Full Day: 8 consecutive hours

All concerns, discrepancies, or issues must be reported to Stars Talent Studio immediately while the booking is in progress. This includes schedule changes, overtime status, wardrobe or content concerns, safety issues, or role/usage changes.

Issues reported after completion of the assignment may not be eligible for review. Immediate reporting allows the Agency to address concerns in real time.

4. BOOKING CONFIRMATION PROCESS

4. BOOKING CONFIRMATION PROCESS

A booking is only confirmed through a written Deal Memo issued by Stars Talent Studio.

A booking is considered confirmed when:

  • A written Deal Memo has been issued
  • All terms are agreed to in writing
  • Talent has accepted through the Agency booking platform

Verbal conversations, email discussions, or informal messages do not constitute a confirmed booking.

4.1 Holds & Availability

To maintain professional scheduling standards, Stars Talent Studio follows structured industry hold procedures.

1st Hold (First Position)
Gives the Client priority on a date. The Client must confirm or release the Talent by the stated deadline. Failure to release may result in the hold converting to a booking or triggering cancellation fees if other work was declined.

2nd Hold (Second Position)
Places the Client in line behind a 1st Hold. The date is not secured. If the 1st Hold releases, the 2nd Hold may confirm. If the 1st Hold confirms, the 2nd Hold is automatically released.

Confirmed Hold
Indicates clear intent to book while final details are completed. Late release may trigger cancellation or kill fees.

Soft Holds
Soft holds are informal expressions of interest used during planning stages when budgets, approvals, locations, wardrobe, or other production details are still being finalized. Soft holds assist with availability forecasting but do not secure dates, provide priority, or prevent other bookings. Only 1st Holds, 2nd Holds, or Confirmed Holds protect availability.

5. CLIENT MUST PROVIDE BEFORE CONFIRMATION

5. CLIENT MUST PROVIDE BEFORE CONFIRMATION

  1. Project title and brand/client name

17. CONTRACT REVIEW

17. CONTRACT REVIEW

16.2 Authorized Communication & No-Contact Policy

To protect Talent, Production, Clients, and the integrity of the casting process, only individuals authorized by Stars Talent Studio / Screenwise Casting may directly contact represented Talent regarding casting, bookings, callbacks, screen tests, chemistry reads, fittings, table reads, work sessions, scheduling, compensation, usage, or other production requirements unless the Agency has expressly authorized direct communication in writing.

Production, Client, and other third parties should route casting and booking communications through the established Agency / Screenwise contact. Unauthorized direct outreach, requests, instructions, negotiations, or attempts to bypass the Agency are not permitted.

This policy is intended to maintain a consistent casting process, protect Talent from conflicting or unauthorized instructions, preserve confidentiality and accurate records, and ensure that compensation, usage, scheduling, and production requirements are properly documented.

Any exception permitting direct Talent contact should be approved in writing by Stars Talent Studio before the contact occurs.

All contracts, deal memos, NDAs, releases, and legal documents must be reviewed and approved by Stars Talent Studio prior to Talent signing.

Rates & Payment Terms

Select a topic below to read the complete policy.

6. COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

6. COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

Talent compensation consists of two separate components: (1) Session / Work Fee and (2) Usage / Licensing Fee. Each serves a different purpose, and neither automatically includes the other.

SAG-AFTRA vs. Non-Union Rates

Stars Talent Studio represents both SAG-AFTRA union and non-union talent. Rates depend on union status, project type, production requirements, and negotiated terms. SAG-AFTRA projects must follow applicable union agreements and minimums. Non-union projects are priced according to agreed session fees, licensing requirements, and custom bids.

Talent rates may vary based on:

  • Professional experience, training, and specialized skills
  • Acting, modeling, and performance credits
  • IMDb credits, industry recognition, and star meter rankings, where applicable
  • Market demand, public profile, and established booking history
  • Role complexity, production requirements, and project budget
  • Usage rights, licensing duration, territory, and media distribution

1. SESSION / WORK FEE — Payment for Talent’s Time

The session fee compensates talent for performing services, including acting, modeling, on-set work, and content creation. Production-required fittings, screen tests, callbacks, rehearsals, and other sessions may require separate compensation under the applicable booking terms.

Session rates are determined by talent category, experience, project requirements, union status, and agreed terms.

2. USAGE / LICENSING FEE — Payment for the Rights to Use Talent

The licensing fee covers approved commercial use of talent’s image, likeness, voice, or performance. Fees depend on the specific rights purchased, including:

  • Media: Social media, digital advertising, print, television, streaming, billboards, and other channels
  • Duration: 3-month, 6-month, 12-month, or multi-year terms
  • Territory: Local, regional, national, or worldwide
  • Usage scope: Organic content, paid advertising, archival rights, exclusivity, buyouts, and renewals

All usage rights must be specifically defined and approved in writing. An archival buyout does not automatically include ongoing paid advertising or unrestricted commercial use.

Important Compensation Guidelines

The session fee and licensing fee are separate charges. Paying for talent’s time does not automatically grant permission to use their image or performance.

Stars Talent Studio provides customized casting bids and transparent rate breakdowns to help clients select talent and determine appropriate session fees and licensing costs based on their production requirements, budget, and intended usage. All rates and rights must be confirmed in writing before the applicable services or usage begin.

1. SESSION / WORK FEE

The Session (or Work) Fee compensates Talent for time spent performing services, including on-set work, rehearsals, fittings, content creation, and other production-required activities or availability, as specified in the booking terms.

This fee covers labor and availability only. It does not grant Production any rights to use Talent’s image, likeness, voice, or performance. All usage, licensing, and renewal rights must be separately defined in writing.

1.1 Purpose of the Session Fee

The Session Fee compensates Talent for performing the services agreed upon for a specific booking. Applicable compensation must be established in advance and documented in the booking terms or Deal Memo.

1.2 Standard Actor Non-Union Session Fee Rates

  • Full-Day Rate: $750-$1,423 per session.
  • Half-Day Rate: $550 per session.
  • Experienced or Specialized Actors: Actors with additional experience, specialized skills, union status, industry recognition, or established market demand may command higher rates, determined on a case-by-case basis. And if you're looking to book an A-list celebrity, just know that the price tag may have more zeroes than the script! Some celebrities can command millions, so we'll tailor the casting bid to your talent, project, and budget.

Applicable union rates, negotiated project rates, or written custom bids supersede these standard rates where agreed or required.

1.3 Standard Model Session Fee Rates

  • Full-Day Rate: $1,000- $2,000 per day.
  • Experienced or Specialized Models: Models with extensive experience, specialized skills, international recognition, or established market demand may command higher rates, determined on a case-by-case basis. For our supermodels, session fees can range from $5,000- $10,000 per day or more. After all, when you're booking a world-class face, the investment can be just as extraordinary as the talent!

Half-day rates, fitting fees, overtime, and other additional compensation must be established in the booking terms or Deal Memo.

1.4 Production-Required Sessions

For production-required sessions booked separately from a standard half-day or full-day engagement, the rate must be agreed upon in advance and documented in writing. This includes auditions or screen tests, rehearsals, fittings, chemistry reads, table reads, and other production-requested appointments or services.

The applicable fee will be based on the agreed project rate, Talent’s standard rate, or a written custom bid. Union agreements and applicable legal requirements take precedence where applicable.

1.5 Custom Bids

Clients may request a custom bid for selected Talent at any time. Rates may vary based on Talent’s experience, role, project requirements, session length, location, exclusivity, and other negotiated terms. All approved rates must be confirmed in writing before the booking or production-required service begins.

1.6 Production-Required Sessions and Rates

Screen tests, fittings, chemistry reads, table reads, rehearsals, work sessions, and other production-requested appointments are considered production-required sessions when Production requires Talent to attend, prepare, perform, rehearse, read, test, take direction, or otherwise provide their time or services. This includes required in-person meetings, callbacks, auditions, and other production-requested appointments, whether conducted in person or remotely.

All production-required sessions are compensable, and the applicable rate must be confirmed in writing before Talent is required to attend or perform services.

Additional Session Fees & Rate Adjustments

  • Fittings: $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, plus the 20% agency fee, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Includes production-required wardrobe, sizing, and measurement appointments.
  • Screen Tests & Chemistry Reads: $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Screen tests evaluate on-camera performance and suitability for a role; chemistry reads assess on-screen dynamics between performers.
  • Table Reads, Rehearsals & Work Sessions: $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Includes production-required readings, rehearsals, blocking, and other working sessions requiring Talent’s preparation or participation.
  • Required Meetings & Remote Sessions: Production-requested in-person or virtual meetings, auditions, and work sessions are billed at $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Second Callbacks: A second callback requested by Production is billed at $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Initial callbacks for casting consideration are not automatically billable.
  • Experienced or Specialized Talent: Higher rates may apply based on experience, specialized skills, union status, industry recognition, project requirements, or individually negotiated terms.
  • Extended Sessions & Overtime: Additional time beyond the agreed session length is billed according to the applicable booking terms and established overtime rates.
  • Union & Custom Rates: Applicable union agreements, negotiated project rates, and approved written custom bids take precedence where required or agreed.

All applicable rates, minimums, agency fees, overtime charges, and approved travel expenses must be confirmed in writing before services begin.

All additional fees, minimums, overtime charges, agency fees, and approved production-related expenses must be confirmed in writing before services begin. Production-required sessions are separate from standard half-day and full-day bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. USAGE / LICENSING FEE

All usage rights must be clearly defined in writing before booking. Talent work/session fees compensate for time and labor only and do not include licensing rights. No rights are implied. Any use not expressly granted in writing is prohibited.

Usage Must Be Defined in Writing

Client contracts, Deal Memos, and booking confirmations must specify the exact scope of usage being purchased. Undefined, open-ended, or unrestricted “all media” language is not permitted.

Each licensing agreement must identify, as applicable:

  • Media Type: Television, streaming, social media, print, radio, billboards, and other media.
  • Platforms and Placement: Organic social media, paid advertising, boosted posts, websites, retailer sites, OTT/CTV, YouTube, and other platforms.
  • Licensing Term: The approved period of use, such as 3, 6, or 12 months, or multiple years.
  • Territory: Local, regional, national, North American, or worldwide use.
  • Start and End Dates: The specific dates the license begins and expires.
  • Additional Rights: Exclusivity, third-party distribution, archival rights, buyouts, or other negotiated permissions.

Individual Licensing Categories and Media Selection

Media Licensing & Usage Rights

Stars Talent Studio offers a comprehensive licensing structure with more than 100 potential options covering media, platforms, content, distribution, territory, duration, and additional usage rights. This allows Clients to select the specific rights required for each campaign rather than assuming a single licensing fee covers every type of use.

For assistance identifying applicable media categories, defining usage terms, or determining the appropriate licensing structure for your project, please contact Amber Evans, Owner of Stars Talent Studio, at 801-201-5885.

Licensing categories may include, but are not limited to:

G. Additional and Special Rights

  • Archival retention and negotiated buyouts
  • AI, digital-replica, and synthetic-media rights, subject to the separate written approval requirements in Section 9

This list provides examples of licensing categories, not an automatic grant of rights. The exact rights purchased must be documented in the applicable Deal Memo or licensing agreement.

Archival Buyout vs. Annual Paid Advertising

A. Archival Buyout

An archival buyout permits the Client to retain approved campaign materials for archival, historical, or recordkeeping purposes as expressly defined in the licensing agreement. Archival rights may permit continued storage after the active usage term expires, but they do not automatically authorize continued public display, promotion, distribution, or advertising.

Unless expressly approved in writing, archival rights do not permit the Client to:

  • Continue running the content in paid advertising.
  • Keep expired advertisements publicly accessible as active promotional materials.
  • Repost, redistribute, or repurpose the content for a new campaign.
  • Transfer the materials to third parties for commercial use.

Any permitted archival retention period, access, and restrictions must be defined in writing. A perpetual archival permission, if granted, applies only to the specific archival rights approved and does not automatically create perpetual commercial usage rights.

B. Annual Paid Advertising License

A paid advertising license permits the Client to use Talent’s approved image, likeness, voice, or performance in specified paid advertising channels for the agreed licensing term, commonly 12 months.

The annual license applies only to the media, platforms, territory, campaign, and dates expressly approved. Continued paid advertising after expiration requires a paid renewal or a new license unless a different written agreement applies.

Adding new platforms, expanding territories, introducing additional media types, or using the content in a new campaign may require additional licensing approval and fees.

C. Key Difference

An archival buyout concerns the retention of materials for the specific archival purposes approved in writing. An annual paid advertising license authorizes active commercial promotion for a defined period. These are separate licensing categories and must not be treated as interchangeable.

Licensing Fees, Bundles, and Advance Booking Savings

Licensing fees depend on the scope of rights requested, including the media, platforms, territory, duration, exclusivity, distribution, and commercial reach of the campaign.

Individual Licensing: Clients may select specific media and usage categories required for their project. Each additional category or expanded right may increase the licensing fee.

Bulk Licensing Discounts: Stars Talent Studio may offer discounted package pricing when Clients purchase multiple approved media rights or platforms together. Bundled pricing is subject to written approval and applies only to the rights specifically included in the package.

Advance Booking and Multi-Year Savings: Clients are encouraged to identify all anticipated campaign uses before production begins. Purchasing multiple licensing years upfront may allow the Client to secure an agreed rate for the prepaid term and avoid annual renewal increases for those years.

Any package discount, multi-year price, renewal rate, or price protection must be confirmed in writing. A bundle does not authorize additional media, platforms, territories, or uses that are not expressly included.

Renewals and Annual Licensing Increases

Renewals are not automatic and must be approved and paid before the new licensing period begins.

Unless a different rate is expressly agreed to in writing:

  • The initial licensing fee applies to the original approved term.
  • Each additional annual renewal is subject to the original licensing fee plus a 25% increase for the first renewal, with subsequent annual renewals increasing by 25% over the previous renewal fee.
  • The standard 20% agency fee applies to renewal payments.
  • Expanded usage, additional media, new territories, exclusivity, or other material campaign changes may require separate negotiation and additional fees.

Clients wishing to secure multiple years at an agreed rate should discuss and document the arrangement before production begins. Prepaid multi-year terms are governed by the written agreement.

Unauthorized or Expanded Usage

Use beyond the approved media, platforms, territory, term, or purpose constitutes unauthorized usage and may result in additional licensing fees, renewal charges, takedown requests, or other remedies available under the agreement and applicable law.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that advertising agencies, production companies, end clients, parent companies, subsidiaries, media buyers, retailers, affiliates, distribution partners, and other third parties comply with the approved licensing terms.

Archiving, reposting, transferring, distributing, or repurposing campaign materials does not automatically transfer or expand licensing rights.

Licensing Quotes and Custom Packages

For custom licensing bids, itemized media selections, bulk licensing discounts, archival buyouts, or multi-year usage packages, contact:

Amber Evans — Stars Talent Studio
Phone: 801-688-5553
Email: [email protected]

All final licensing terms, pricing, discounts, renewal obligations, and approved usage rights must be documented in writing in the applicable Deal Memo or licensing agreement.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY & THIRD-PARTY USE

If an advertising agency, production company, casting company, or intermediary books Talent on behalf of a brand, network, studio, or other funding entity, the booking party is responsible for ensuring that all usage terms, licensing restrictions, and renewal obligations are fully communicated to and honored by the end client and any affiliated parties.

The party executing the booking remains financially responsible for all session fees, usage/licensing fees, renewals, overages, expanded usage, and unauthorized use claims, even if the content is later controlled, distributed, licensed, edited, archived, or repurposed by another entity.

Transfer, sharing, syndication, archiving, reposting, or distribution of footage, assets, campaign materials, or edited versions to any third party does not transfer licensing rights or payment responsibility without prior written approval from Stars Talent Studio. Licensing rights are non-transferable unless expressly authorized in writing.

The booking party is responsible for ensuring compliance by:

  • Parent companies
  • Subsidiaries
  • Media buyers
  • Distribution partners
  • Social media agencies
  • Affiliates
  • Retailers
  • Platforms
  • Any downstream users

Failure of a third party to comply with licensing terms does not relieve the booking party or end client of payment obligations.

The booking party agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Stars Talent Studio and its Talent against claims arising from unauthorized use, licensing violations, or failure to obtain proper usage rights.

THIRD PARTY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRACKING LICENSING

  • The Work Fee pays the Talent for their time, known as the Session Fee.
  • The Usage Fee pays for permission to use the Talent or the Talent’s image for the negotiated term or licensing period.
  • Both are required.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Select a topic below to read the complete policy.

15. CANCELLATION POLICY (KILL FEES)

15. CANCELLATION POLICY (KILL FEES)

Once Stars Talent Studio confirms a booking and the Talent accepts the engagement, the Client becomes financially responsible for the reserved dates. At that time, Talent typically removes themselves from consideration for other work opportunities, and Stars Talent Studio begins scheduling, booking administration, production coordination, travel planning (if applicable), wardrobe coordination, and client support.

If a confirmed booking is canceled after Talent has committed to the project, a Kill Fee shall apply. Kill fees are a standard entertainment industry practice and compensate Talent for reserved production dates and the Agency for services performed. Kill fees are not penalties, but compensation for reserved time and lost booking opportunities.

Standard Cancellation Schedule

Notice Given Before First Scheduled Work Day
Client Responsibility
More than five (5) business days
No cancellation fee applies to the booking fee; however, the client remains responsible for reimbursing any pre-approved, documented, non-refundable expenses already incurred by talent, including travel/airfare if a talent is coming in as a Utah local hire and other production-related costs.

Three (3) to five (5) business days
50% of the confirmed booking fee, plus any approved wardrobe, travel, rentals, or other production expenses already incurred.
Less than three (3) business days, same-day cancellation, or Client no-show
100% of the confirmed booking fee, plus all approved expenses incurred on behalf of the production.

Cancellation fees help protect Talent from last-minute cancellations after they have reserved production dates and declined other employment opportunities.

15.1 Weather Holds & Weather Cancellations

For outdoor productions or productions that are weather-dependent, the following terms apply unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • If Talent is placed on a Weather Hold and released within 48 hours of the scheduled call time, the Client shall pay 50% of the confirmed booking fee.
  • If Talent is released within 24 hours of the scheduled call time, the Client shall pay 100% of the confirmed booking fee.
  • If Talent remains available exclusively for the reserved production date but is ultimately not used due to weather, Stars Talent Studio may assess a Weather Hold Fee of up to 50% of the confirmed booking fee, depending on the circumstances and the length of the hold.

Weather-related delays or cancellations do not eliminate the Client's financial responsibility once Talent has accepted the booking and reserved the production dates.

15.2 Postponements

If a production is postponed after Talent has confirmed availability, Stars Talent Studio will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the originally booked Talent. If the Talent is unavailable due to the revised production dates, the postponement shall be treated as a cancellation, and the applicable Kill Fee schedule shall apply.

15.3 Agency Discretion

Stars Talent Studio understands that unexpected circumstances may arise. In exceptional situations, including force majeure events or other extraordinary circumstances beyond the reasonable control of both parties, the Agency reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reduce or waive cancellation fees. Any waiver must be approved by Stars Talent Studio in writing.

Usage & Licensing

Select a topic below to read the complete policy.

8. USAGE & LICENSING

8. USAGE & LICENSING

All usage rights must be clearly defined in writing prior to booking. Talent work/session fees compensate for time and labor only and do not include licensing rights. Unauthorized or expanded use constitutes breach of contract and copyright and likeness rights infringement.

Usage Must Be Defined in Writing

Client contracts, deal memos, and confirmations must specify the exact scope of usage being purchased. Undefined, open-ended, or “all media” language without limits is not permitted.

All usage agreements must clearly state:

Media Type(s):
Television, Streaming, Web, Social Media, Print, Out-of-Home, Broadcast, In-Store, Internal/Corporate, etc.

Platforms & Placement:
Organic social, paid ads, boosted posts, whitelisting, brand website, retailer site, OTT, YouTube, Meta ads, programmatic, etc.

Licensing Term:
Length of time the content may be used (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, per campaign).

Territory:
Local, regional, national, North America, worldwide, etc.

Start and End Dates:
Usage begins and ends on clearly defined calendar dates. Indefinite use is not allowed.

Licensing Principles

The Usage or Licensing Fee grants the Client permission to use the Talent’s likeness, image, voice, or performance for commercial or public use.

Licensing is:

  • Temporary, not permanent ownership
  • Limited to the defined media, platforms, term, and territory

No rights are implied. Any use not expressly granted in writing is prohibited.

Client may not, without written approval and paid renewal:

  • Extend usage beyond agreed dates
  • Move content into new media
  • Repurpose footage into new campaigns
  • Transfer assets to third parties
  • Use for paid advertising if only organic use was licensed

Licensing Structure

Licensing is time-limited and commonly structured:

  • Per term (e.g., 3, 6, or 12 months), or
  • Per year, with renewal required for continued use

Any use beyond the agreed licensing period or outside agreed media, platforms, or territories requires new licensing approval and payment.

Licensing Tracking & Renewals

Stars Talent Studio monitors licensing expiration dates and may contact the Client prior to expiration to determine whether to renew, expand, modify, or allow usage to expire. Renewals must be approved and paid before the new usage period begins.

Unauthorized Use

Use beyond agreed terms constitutes:

  • Breach of contract
  • Copyright and likeness rights infringement

and may result in additional licensing fees, penalties, takedown requests, or legal action.

9. AI / ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESTRICTIONS

9. AI / ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESTRICTIONS

No artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, digital replication, or synthetic media use is permitted unless expressly approved in writing by Stars Talent Studio via email. Any approved use must be documented in the official Deal Memo issued by Stars Talent Studio before such use may occur.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • AI-generated likeness replication
  • Digital cloning of face, voice, or body
  • Deepfakes or synthetic performance creation
  • Training AI models using the talent’s image, voice, or performance
  • Use in virtual avatars, digital doubles, or CGI recreation
  • Modification of performance using AI tools
  • Voice synthesis or voice modeling
  • Image manipulation beyond standard retouching
  • Generative AI use for future campaigns

Talent performance, likeness, and voice may not be scanned, captured, digitized, stored, or repurposed for AI-related use without written authorization in the Deal Memo defining:

  • Scope of AI use
  • Media and platforms
  • Term and expiration
  • Territory
  • Compensation specific to AI usage

Unauthorized AI use constitutes material breach of contract and violation of likeness and intellectual property rights and may result in legal action, damages, and immediate termination of usage rights.

10. RENEWALS

10. RENEWALS

Renewals are not automatic and must be negotiated and paid before the beginning of each new licensing period.

Standard Renewal Terms:

  • Original licensing fee + 25% for each additional renewal term.
  • If the client expands the campaign (additional media, territories, platforms, or usage), renewal fees may increase by 50%–100%, depending on the expanded usage rights.
  • Standard 20% agency fee applies to all renewal payments.

Multi-Year Licensing Option

To help clients manage long-term budgets, Stars Talent Studio offers the option to pre-purchase multiple years of usage at the time of the initial booking. By securing additional licensing years upfront, clients lock in the agreed-upon rate for those years.

If the client chooses to renew one year at a time after the initial licensing period has expired, each renewal will be invoiced at the original licensing fee plus a 25% increase for that renewal term. This annual increase reflects the continued value of the talent's likeness, performance, and the ongoing commercial benefit received from the campaign.

Example:

  • Year 1: Original Licensing Fee
  • Year 2 Renewal: Original Licensing Fee + 25%
  • Year 3 Renewal: Previous Year's Renewal + 25% (unless a multi-year agreement was prepaid)
  • Year 4 Renewal: Continues at the applicable renewal rate, subject to any expanded usage or market changes.

Clients wishing to avoid annual renewal increases are encouraged to discuss multi-year licensing before production begins, allowing usage rights to be secured at a fixed rate in advance.

11. EXCLUSIVITY

11. EXCLUSIVITY

Exclusivity is never implied and must be clearly defined in writing, including product category, competitors, territory, term, media, and compensation. Because exclusivity restricts a Talent’s ability to work, it requires additional fees beyond session and usage.

Typical Rate Bumps

  • Narrow / Limited Category: +25%–50% of usage fee
  • Full Product Category: +50%–100% of usage fee
  • National Brand Conflict: +75%–150% of usage fee
  • Global or Broad Restrictions: +100%–200%+ of usage fee

Extended Terms (12+ months)

Additional renewal fees apply and may increase if restrictions expand. Vague terms like “no competitors” are not valid. Any expanded exclusivity after booking requires additional compensation.

3. PRIOR DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

3. PRIOR DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

Sensitive content and conditions must be approved before booking.

Clients must disclose in writing:

Night Shoots

Billed at 1.5x due to fatigue, recovery, childcare impact.

Revealing Wardrobe

Lingerie, swimwear, sheer, implied nudity must be pre-approved.

Physical Contact / Intimacy

Kissing or close physical interaction requires prior approval.

Sensitive Topics

Violence, medical, psychological, political, religious, alcohol, smoking, or controversial themes must be disclosed.

Failure to disclose may result in refusal, removal, or renegotiation. Payment obligations remain.

12. WARDROBE & FITTINGS

12. WARDROBE & FITTINGS

Fittings are considered paid working time, and appearance changes are strictly controlled to protect the Talent’s professional image and future bookings.

Standard Fitting Rate

Required fittings, sizing appointments, and measurement appointments are paid working time. Talent should not be expected to attend, prepare for, or provide required fitting or measurement services without compensation. Fittings are billed at $100 per hour with a one-hour minimum, plus the standard agency fee, unless a different written rate is agreed in advance.

If a fitting exceeds two (2) hours, it converts to a half-day session rate, as the extended time commitment limits other booking availability.

Fittings canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time remain subject to the one-hour minimum charge.

Appearance Changes

Clients may not alter a talent’s appearance without prior written approval from Stars Talent Studio.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Haircuts or major hairstyling changes
  • Hair coloring
  • Facial hair removal or growth
  • Spray tans
  • Body makeup that alters natural skin tone
  • Piercings or visible body modifications

Why This Policy Exists

A talent’s appearance is part of their professional brand and marketability. Unauthorized changes may interfere with future bookings, contracts, or continuity requirements.

If a Production Requests an Appearance Change

  • The request must be submitted in writing before the booking is confirmed
  • Additional fees may apply
  • Both the Talent and the Agency must approve in advance

No appearance changes may be introduced on set without prior written approval.

14. SAFETY & MINORS WORK GUIDELINES

14. SAFETY & MINORS WORK GUIDELINES

14.1 Production-Required Time & Expense Principle

No performer shall be required to provide production-required time or incur production-required travel expenses without the applicable compensation or reimbursement being clearly established in advance. This includes required screen tests, fittings, chemistry reads, table reads, work sessions, and other appointments or services requested by Production.

Stars Talent Studio is committed to protecting the health, safety, education, and well-being of all minor performers. Clients engaging minors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing the employment of children in the entertainment industry.

14.2 Legal Compliance — Utah vs. Out-of-State Productions

All productions employing minors must comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the jurisdiction where the work takes place.

A. Productions Filmed in Utah

For productions taking place in Utah, Client and Production are responsible for complying with applicable Utah child labor laws and regulations, federal law where applicable, and any relevant local requirements. This includes applicable restrictions concerning work hours, breaks, permitted activities, supervision, and required documentation.

B. Productions Filmed Outside Utah

For productions taking place outside Utah, Client and Production are responsible for complying with the child labor and entertainment-industry laws of the state and locality where filming occurs. Requirements may differ substantially from Utah, including rules for work permits, employer permits, school instruction, studio teachers, welfare workers, work-hour limits, breaks, and protected earnings.

For example, California and New York have specific child-performer permit and employer compliance requirements. New York generally requires 15% of a child performer's gross earnings to be deposited into a qualifying trust account for covered employment.

C. Productions in Multiple States

If a booking involves filming or required work in more than one state, Client and Production must comply with the requirements applicable to each jurisdiction. Compliance with Utah law alone does not satisfy requirements imposed by another state.

Where multiple legal standards apply, Stars Talent Studio may require additional reasonable safeguards to protect the minor, provided those safeguards are consistent with applicable law.

14.3 Parent or Legal Guardian

  • A parent or legal guardian must remain accessible to the minor throughout production, subject to any additional or different supervision requirements under applicable law.
  • Production must provide a safe, clean, age-appropriate environment for all minor performers.
  • Any required parent, guardian, responsible adult, studio teacher, or welfare worker must be provided in accordance with the laws governing the production location.

14.4 Working Conditions

Production must provide:

  • A safe, hazard-free working environment.
  • Meal and rest breaks required by applicable law.
  • Access to drinking water and restroom facilities.
  • Climate-appropriate shelter when filming outdoors.
  • Age-appropriate holding areas.
  • Reasonable accommodations for the health and well-being of the minor.
  • Any legally required educational instruction, supervision, medical support, or welfare services.

14.5 Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

  1. Client and Production must request and review any known food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medically necessary food accommodations before Talent arrives on set when meals, snacks, or refreshments will be provided.
  2. Production must communicate available meal options and make reasonable arrangements to accommodate disclosed needs. Food ingredients and potential cross-contact risks should be verified when reasonably possible.
  3. Talent or their parent/legal guardian is responsible for communicating relevant allergies and restrictions to Stars Talent Studio or Production in advance. For minors, the parent or legal guardian must be included in this communication.
  4. Production must not knowingly provide food that conflicts with a disclosed allergy or restriction.
  5. If Production cannot reasonably accommodate a disclosed food allergy or medically necessary dietary restriction, Client must notify Stars Talent Studio before Talent arrives on set so alternative arrangements can be discussed and confirmed.

14.6 Infants (0–12 Months)

Productions utilizing infants must provide appropriate opportunities for feeding, diapering, sleep, and comfort, consistent with the infant's needs and applicable law.

During extended breaks, and when approved by Production, a parent or legal guardian may allow the infant to rest in a safe, quiet, climate-controlled location. The parent or guardian must remain accessible and comply with all production safety requirements. Production should provide reasonable advance notice before the infant is needed on camera.

Infants must be protected from unnecessary exposure to bright lights, loud noises, smoke, pyrotechnics, or other stressful or hazardous conditions. A parent or legal guardian must remain present or otherwise comply with the supervision requirements applicable to the production location.

14.7 Toddlers & Young Children (Ages 1–5 Years)

Meals, Rest & Comfort

Production should provide age-appropriate work periods and breaks for rest, meals, hydration, play, diapering when applicable, and comfort. Schedules should reasonably accommodate the child's routine, including naps when needed, subject to applicable legal requirements.

When practical and approved by Production, a parent or legal guardian may allow the child to rest in a safe, quiet, climate-controlled location and must remain immediately reachable and comply with production safety requirements.

Holding Areas & Dressing Facilities

Client must provide a clean, safe, weather-appropriate holding area with suitable seating and shelter. Drinking water and clean restroom facilities must be readily available.

When practical, private changing or dressing areas should be provided for wardrobe changes. Production should maintain a calm, age-appropriate environment with appropriate supervision, simple direction, and access to a parent or legal guardian as required by law.

14.8 School-Age Children & Teens (Ages 6–17 Years)

Production must comply with the applicable jurisdiction's requirements concerning child labor, school attendance, work-hour limitations, meal and rest breaks, educational instruction, and other legal protections.

  • Utah productions: Utah requirements apply, along with applicable federal and local law.
  • Out-of-state productions: The requirements of the state and locality where the work takes place apply. Client is responsible for identifying and meeting all applicable requirements before the minor begins work.

14.9 Work Permits & Legal Documentation

Client and Production are responsible for obtaining, verifying, and maintaining all permits, employer authorizations, school documentation, studio-teacher arrangements, welfare-worker services, trust-account documentation, and other requirements mandated by the applicable jurisdiction.

The parent or legal guardian must provide any documents that the law specifically requires the family to obtain or supply. Client and Production must communicate documentation deadlines and requirements sufficiently in advance to avoid placing the minor or family in a non-compliant position.

No minor may begin work until all legally required permits, authorizations, and documentation are in place.

14.10 Safety & Scene Disclosure

Client must disclose in advance any scenes or working conditions involving:

  • Physical activity, stunts, or strenuous movement.
  • Water or aquatic environments.
  • Animals.
  • Special effects.
  • Smoke, haze, pyrotechnics, or atmospheric effects.
  • Loud noises or flashing lights.
  • Emotionally sensitive or potentially distressing material.
  • Potentially hazardous conditions or specialized equipment.

Additional parental consent, safety measures, qualified supervision, or other legal approvals may be required before a minor participates in such scenes.

14.11 Agency Right to Protect Minor Performers

Stars Talent Studio reserves the right to suspend participation or remove a minor performer from a production if, in the Agency's reasonable judgment:

  • Applicable legal requirements are not being met.
  • Required supervision, permits, or documentation are missing.
  • Working conditions present an unreasonable health or safety concern.
  • The production environment is inappropriate for the minor.
  • Material safety concerns have not been adequately addressed.

Removal or suspension due to safety concerns or legal non-compliance does not automatically relieve Client of payment obligations for confirmed bookings, applicable cancellation fees, approved expenses, or other amounts due under the booking agreement, subject to applicable law and the terms of the agreement.

14.12 Client Responsibility & Acknowledgment

By confirming a booking involving a minor performer, Client acknowledges responsibility for identifying and complying with the laws and regulations applicable to the production location, obtaining required permits and authorizations, providing legally required supervision and working conditions, and communicating any special requirements to Stars Talent Studio before the minor begins work.

18. CONFIDENTIALITY, SET CONDITIONS & PRESS

18. CONFIDENTIALITY, SET CONDITIONS & PRESS

On-Set Environment Disclosure

Client must disclose in advance whether the production will operate as a closed set or open set.

Closed Set: Only essential crew required for filming are permitted in the area. Used for sensitive wardrobe, minors, intimate scenes, medical themes, or privacy-sensitive performances.

Open Set: Standard production environment where additional crew, clients, or observers may be present.

Set designation must be communicated prior to booking confirmation so Talent and parents/guardians (if minors) can make informed decisions.

If a project requires a closed set due to wardrobe, age, or scene sensitivity and this was not disclosed in advance, Talent and the Agency reserve the right to:

  • Pause filming
  • Renegotiate terms
  • Remove Talent from set

Failure to disclose set conditions may be considered a breach of booking terms.

Confidentiality, Non-Disclosure & Social Media

No posting, sharing, tagging, or disclosure of project information is permitted without prior written approval from both the Client and Stars Talent Studio.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Behind-the-scenes photos or videos
  • Wardrobe, scripts, call sheets, or production materials
  • Brand names or product launches
  • Campaign concepts, unreleased content, or storylines
  • Other Talent or celebrity presence on set
  • Filming locations not publicly released

Talent may not announce bookings, repost brand content, or share footage unless usage rights specifically allow it and written permission is granted.

Likewise, Client may not publicly post Talent content outside licensed usage, including:

  • Using Talent in social posts beyond contract scope
  • Tagging Talent for promotional purposes outside agreement
  • Sharing raw footage, unused takes, or rehearsal content

Unauthorized disclosure or posting may result in:

  • Immediate takedown request
  • Licensing violation claims
  • Removal from future booking eligibility
  • Legal remedies for breach of confidentiality

These protections apply during production and after project completion until content is officially released.

These measures protect minors, brand launches, celebrity privacy, NDA compliance, and licensing control.

Travel & Expenses

Select a topic below to read the complete policy.

13. TRAVEL & LOCAL HIRE

13. TRAVEL & LOCAL HIRE

“Local hire” means that airfare, lodging, and long-distance travel are not automatically included unless negotiated and documented in the Deal Memo. Local-hire status does not eliminate Client’s responsibility for production-required local transportation, mileage, parking, or other approved travel expenses associated with a required session or appointment.

13.1 Local Travel Radius — Salt Lake City, Utah

The standard local-hire area is defined as a 25-mile radius from a designated reference point in Salt Lake City, Utah, measured in a straight line. Talent residing or working within this radius is generally considered local hire unless otherwise specified in writing.

Actual reimbursable mileage will be calculated using the approved driving route and measured round-trip from the approved departure location to the required production destination.

Travel beyond the 25-mile local-hire radius may qualify for additional mileage reimbursement, ground transportation, or other approved travel expenses, as agreed to in writing before the booking or required appointment.

The local-hire designation does not eliminate Client’s responsibility for approved, production-required transportation expenses or other travel costs expressly agreed to in writing.

13.2 Travel Day Compensation

Travel days are considered working days because Talent must reserve the day exclusively for production-related travel and may be unavailable for other bookings.

  • Travel Day Rate: Travel time is billed at 50% of the booked session rate, with a minimum travel day fee of $500.
  • Extended Travel: If total travel time exceeds six (6) hours door-to-door, the travel day converts to a full session rate.
  • Additional Compensation: Travel days are billable in addition to session fees, usage fees, and any applicable overtime or premium scheduling.
  • Extended Ground Transfers: Ground transfers exceeding 90 minutes each way may incur additional compensation due to extended travel duration.

13.3 Mileage & Ground Transportation

When Talent is required by Client or Production to use a personal vehicle for production-related travel, Client is responsible for reimbursing approved mileage at the applicable IRS standard business mileage rate in effect on the date of travel.

Current IRS Mileage Rate: As of July 1, 2026, the standard IRS business mileage rate is $0.76 per mile. This rate may change when the IRS updates its standard mileage rates.

  • Mileage Calculation: Approved mileage will be calculated round-trip from the approved departure location to the required production destination, using the approved driving route, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
  • Required Appointments: Approved mileage and transportation expenses will be reimbursed when Talent is required to attend production-related screen tests, fittings, chemistry reads, table reads, work sessions, or other required appointments that require travel outside the normal local area or otherwise cause Talent to incur additional transportation expenses.
  • Wardrobe, Props & Equipment: Since Stars Talent Studio represents wardrobe stylists and costume designers, approved mileage and transportation expenses will be reimbursed when they are required to transport wardrobe, costumes, props, or production equipment using a personal vehicle. Additional transportation costs must be approved in writing.
  • Other Ground Transportation: Approved parking, tolls, rideshare services, taxis, public transportation, and other necessary production-related transportation expenses are reimbursable in accordance with this policy.
  • Advance Approval: Client or Production must communicate or approve applicable mileage rates, departure locations, and additional transportation expenses in advance whenever reasonably possible.
  • No Required Out-of-Pocket Subsidy: Talent will not be required to personally absorb approved, production-required transportation expenses. Any exception must be agreed to in writing before the expense is incurred. Exception: Talent who voluntarily accepts a booking as a local hire, despite residing outside the designated local-hire area, may be responsible for their own travel costs if the local-hire designation and all applicable travel terms are clearly disclosed in the Stars Talent Studio casting and/or booking information before Talent accepts the booking.

13.4 Long-Distance & Out-of-State Travel

For extended or out-of-state bookings, Client is responsible for the following approved travel expenses, unless otherwise agreed to in writing in the Deal Memo:

  • Airfare: Round-trip airfare or pre-approved mileage reimbursement for the use of Talent’s personal vehicle.
  • Lodging: Single-occupancy lodging for individual Talent for the required booking dates. Real families booked together may share accommodations, with lodging arrangements approved in advance by Client or Production.
  • Ground Transportation: Approved rental vehicles, rideshare services, taxis, public transportation, parking, tolls, and other necessary ground transportation.
  • Per Diem: A meal and incidental expense allowance, typically $75–$125 per day or higher, depending on the location and requirements of the booking. Per diem applies to each travel day and shoot day away from Talent’s home base.
  • Additional Travel Expenses: Other reasonable, production-required travel expenses approved in advance by Client or Production.

All travel arrangements, reimbursement limits, payment responsibilities, and applicable cancellation terms must be documented in writing before Talent commits to significant or non-refundable travel expenses.

13.5 Parking & Incidentals

Parking fees, required permits, and approved transportation expenses incurred during the booking are reimbursable with receipts. Talent should obtain advance approval for expenses whenever reasonably possible.

13.6 Travel Insurance & Cancellation Protection

If Talent purchases or incurs approved travel expenses for a confirmed booking, Client is responsible for reimbursing approved, documented, non-refundable or unused travel expenses that cannot reasonably be recovered if Client cancels, postpones, or reschedules the booking.

This responsibility applies even when the cancellation occurs more than five (5) business days before the scheduled workday, subject to the written booking agreement and applicable cancellation provisions.

Any refunds, credits, or reimbursements received from airlines, hotels, rental companies, or other providers will be deducted to prevent duplicate recovery. Travel expenses and reimbursement limits must be approved and documented in writing before Talent purchases travel or incurs significant expenses.

13.7 Agency Airbnb Option

Stars Talent Studio maintains a private Airbnb that may be available to accommodate out-of-state Talent traveling for confirmed bookings when they are booked as Utah local hires. Availability is limited and subject to scheduling. Use of this option must be coordinated and approved in advance.

The availability of agency lodging does not automatically eliminate other approved travel expenses or change the agreed cancellation and reimbursement terms.

Policy section / 07

Additional Terms

Select a topic below to read the complete policy.

16. ADDITIONAL FEES, SERVICES & SPECIAL CONDITIONS

16. ADDITIONAL FEES, SERVICES & SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Certain services, conditions, or production requests require advance disclosure and may incur additional fees. These must be approved in writing prior to booking confirmation.

The following may require additional fees or separate compensation when production-required:

  • Wardrobe fittings

Screen tests, chemistry reads, table reads, and work sessions

  • Travel days (non-performance days)
  • Extended usage, licensing expansions, and renewals
  • Overtime
  • Early call times or late wraps
  • Hair and makeup prep outside paid session time
  • Weather holds, delays, or reshoots
  • Specialized skills, equipment, wardrobe, or props
  • Influencer/UGC usage and paid social media usage
  • Screenwise Casting services or additional casting support

Detailed rates or terms for these items may be outlined in a project addendum when applicable.

Holiday, Night Shoots, and Premium Time Rates

Bookings scheduled on holidays, overnight hours, or outside standard production times may incur premium rates.

  • Holidays: Typically billed at 1.5x or higher
  • Night/Overnight Shoots: Typically billed at 1.5x due to rest and scheduling impact
  • Early Calls/Late Wraps: May trigger overtime or additional fees

Premium rates apply even if Talent is released early. All premium scheduling must be disclosed and approved in writing prior to booking confirmation.

Use of Talent’s Real/Legal Name

Using a Talent’s real name in advertising or promotions is considered an endorsement right and may require additional fees.

Name use is commonly billed at approximately 25% of the usage/licensing fee, with a general range of 25%–100%, depending on how the name is used and the visibility of the placement.

16.1 Screenwise Casting — Professional Casting Services

Screenwise Casting — Professional Casting Services

Screenwise Casting provides professional casting services that are distinct from simply contacting agencies, distributing a breakdown, or collecting actor submissions. Agency outreach and submission collection are one component of casting; they are not, by themselves, the full professional casting service.

When a production wants Screenwise Casting to manage the casting process and provide professional casting judgment, Screenwise should be formally hired for casting services. Professional casting services may include:

Developing appropriate screening questions, role criteria, casting parameters, and evaluation standards

Requesting and managing submissions from appropriate agencies, talent sources, or other approved channels

Reviewing and evaluating submissions against the production’s stated requirements and casting criteria

Interpreting audition, self-tape, screen test, chemistry read, or other casting results

Selecting, narrowing, and presenting appropriate actor candidates or curated talent selections to Production

Callback, chemistry-read, screen-test, scheduling, and casting-process coordination

Professional casting judgment regarding what to ask, what to evaluate, how to interpret the results, and which candidates best fit the production

Submission Services vs. Professional Casting

If Production only requests agency outreach or submission collection and does not retain Screenwise to manage the casting process or provide professional casting judgment, that limited service should be treated as submission/coordination support rather than full professional casting services. The scope, responsibilities, and applicable fee must be established in writing before work begins.

Casting Service Engagement & Fees

All professional casting services are additional production services and are separate from Talent booking fees unless otherwise stated in writing. Common pricing structures may include flat project-based casting fees, hourly casting support rates, or percentage-based casting fees for larger-scale commercial, television, or film projects.

The casting scope, services, fee structure, and authorized decision-making responsibilities must be discussed and approved with the booking agent before the casting process begins. No additional casting fees will be incurred without written confirmation.

19. FINAL EDIT & BRAND SAFETY

19. FINAL EDIT & BRAND SAFETY

Client retains final edit unless otherwise agreed in writing. However, Stars Talent Studio may restrict use of Talent’s image, likeness, voice, or performance if it constitutes misuse, misrepresentation, or falls outside agreed terms.

This includes misleading edits, unapproved endorsements, undisclosed sensitive content, defamatory portrayal, or use beyond licensed media, term, or territory.

The Agency may request correction or removal. Noncompliance may be treated as a breach of contract.

20. GOVERNING LAW

20. GOVERNING LAW

All bookings, agreements, and policies are governed by the laws of the State of Utah unless otherwise agreed in writing.

21. ACCEPTANCE

21. ACCEPTANCE

By requesting, confirming, or engaging Talent through Stars Talent Studio, the Client acknowledges and agrees to all booking policies, terms, conditions, and usage requirements outlined herein.

Submission of a booking request, issuance of a Deal Memo, written confirmation, or use of Talent services constitutes full acceptance of these policies, whether or not a separate signature is obtained.

Client agrees that these policies govern all services provided by Stars Talent Studio, including Talent representation, licensing, scheduling, payments, and usage rights.

SECTION 2 — LEGAL PROTECTIONS & LIABILITY

SECTION 2 — LEGAL PROTECTIONS & LIABILITY

2.1 FORCE MAJEURE

Stars Talent Studio, Talent, and Client shall not be held liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, weather emergencies, government orders, labor strikes, transportation disruptions, illness outbreaks, or other unforeseeable circumstances. Bookings affected by such events may be rescheduled or subject to negotiated terms.

2.2 INDEMNIFICATION

Client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Stars Talent Studio, its Talent, agents, and representatives from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, or legal actions arising out of:

  • Production activities
  • Unsafe working conditions
  • Unauthorized usage of Talent likeness
  • Breach of contract by Client

This indemnification includes attorneys’ fees and legal costs. It applies even if Stars Talent Studio or its Talent are named as parties in a claim, lawsuit, or legal proceeding resulting from the Client’s actions, omissions, negligence, production decisions, or licensing violations.

2.3 INSURANCE REQUIREMENT

Client is the controlling employer and is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace in compliance with Utah law and OSHA standards.

Client must carry appropriate general liability and workers’ compensation insurance and provide proof upon request.

Stars Talent Studio acts solely as a booking agency and is not the employer or worksite operator. The Agency and Talent are not responsible for production-related injuries, damages, or losses arising from the production environment.

2.4 DATA, BIOMETRIC & LIKENESS PROTECTION

Client may not capture, store, analyze, or use biometric data, facial recognition data, voiceprints, motion capture data, or other likeness-based digital identifiers of Talent without written authorization in the Deal Memo. This protection is separate from AI usage restrictions.

2.5 PAYMENT DISPUTE WINDOW

Any invoice disputes must be submitted in writing within 10 business days of invoice date. Failure to dispute within this timeframe constitutes acceptance of the charges.

2.6 CREDIT / ATTRIBUTION

Talent credit, name usage, or public attribution is not implied and must be negotiated in writing. Absence of credit does not affect payment obligations unless otherwise stated in the Deal Memo.

2.7 JURISDICTION & VENUE

All legal matters arising from bookings shall be governed by Utah law and resolved in courts located in the State of Utah, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2.8 SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these policies is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

2.9 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Stars Talent Studio’s total liability arising from any booking, agreement, or services provided shall not exceed the total agency fees paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim. In no event shall Stars Talent Studio be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including lost profits, reputational harm, or business interruption.

2.10 NO PARTNERSHIP OR EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP

Nothing in these policies or bookings creates a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, or agency relationship between Stars Talent Studio and the Client. Stars Talent Studio acts solely as a booking agency.

2.11 CLIENT WARRANTY OF RIGHTS

Client represents and warrants that it has secured all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, releases, and clearances required for the production, including but not limited to locations, music, trademarks, scripts, artwork, and third-party content. Stars Talent Studio is not responsible for legal claims arising from Client’s failure to obtain proper rights.

2.12 SURVIVAL OF TERMS

All provisions related to payment obligations, licensing restrictions, indemnification, confidentiality, usage rights, dispute resolution, and legal protections survive completion of the project and termination of the booking.

2.13 AMENDMENTS IN WRITING

No modification, waiver, or change to these policies or booking terms shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by Stars Talent Studio.

2.14 ASSIGNMENT RESTRICTIONS

Client may not assign, transfer, sublicense, or delegate booking obligations, licensing rights, or contractual responsibilities to any third party without prior written approval from Stars Talent Studio.

2.15 LEGAL NOTICE REQUIREMENTS

All legal notices or formal communications must be in writing and delivered to Stars Talent Studio at the official agency address or designated email on record.

2.16 COLLECTION & LEGAL ENFORCEMENT COSTS

If legal action is required to enforce payment or licensing terms, Client is responsible for all reasonable legal fees, court costs, collection expenses, and post-judgment interest.

CLIENT PROTECTION STATEMENT

These booking policies are designed not only to protect Talent, but also to protect Clients, brands, agencies, and production partners from legal risk, licensing disputes, and usage conflicts.

By clearly defining session fees, licensing terms, media scope, territory, term limits, renewal requirements, name usage rights, AI restrictions, and third-party responsibility, Stars Talent Studio ensures that all Talent usage is properly authorized, documented, and legally compliant.

This structure helps prevent:

  • Copyright and likeness infringement claims
  • Unauthorized or expired usage disputes
  • AI and biometric misuse liability
  • Endorsement and name-rights violations
  • Minor labor law violations
  • Misuse of confidential production materials

By working within these policies, Clients gain the benefit of:

  • Documented licensing rights
  • Clear renewal processes
  • Defined usage boundaries
  • Legal compliance support
  • Reduced exposure to legal claims or takedown demands

These policies create clarity, protect production investments, and help ensure campaigns can run confidently without future legal interruptions.

I recommend creating a Stars Talent Studio Production Services & Crew Rate Sheet that clients can use when they need more than talent. It can cover talent wrangling, makeup artists, photographers, videographers, and additional production support.

Your established talent-wrangling rates would be the starting point. The other rates below are suggested client-quote ranges, not confirmed Stars Talent Studio rates. For context, published Utah casting services list $250 for a half day and $450 for a full day, while broader production crew rate guides show higher rates for specialized crew and equipment.

These are planning estimates, not verified vendor quotes or established agency rates. Specialized equipment, insurance, travel, overtime, and post-production deliverables can change the total.

Recommended booking terms

  • Half day: Up to 4 consecutive hours.
  • Full day: Define the included working hours in each quote; I recommend specifying an 8-hour crew day unless the production agreement establishes a different schedule.
  • Overtime: Quote in advance, with any applicable overtime rate documented in writing.
  • Equipment and expenses: List rentals, studio fees, travel, parking, supplies, and other production expenses separately.
  • Usage and licensing: Photography and video production fees do not automatically include unlimited usage rights.
  • Agency fee: Clearly identify any applicable Stars Talent Studio agency fee separately from vendor costs.

My recommendation is to offer these services as a one-stop production solution through Stars Talent Studio. Clients can book the talent and coordinate the crew, photography, makeup, and video production through one point of contact, while receiving an itemized estimate for each service.
